History Time Line
- 1973
John & Anne first started designing and making jewellery
- 1979
Launched our etched brass inlaid with silver collection. The inspiration came from The Book of Kells-9th Century manuscript
- 1981 & 83
New additions to our O`Dalaigh family with Johanna & Jonathan
- 1987
Launched our very popular silver collection based on ancient artefacts found throughout Europe. This collection was wholesaled all around the world
- 1996
Jonathan started learning by his father’s side on school holidays at age 13
- 1999
Opened O`Dalaigh Jewellers shop and workshop in Clifden, Connemara
- 2000
Jonathan came from Kilkenny design yard to manage our flagship store.
- 2005
Launched website: www.celticimpressions.com
- 2008
Opened a retail unit at the new Cliffs of Moher visitor experience
- 2012
Relocated our Clifden shop to the Square which also gave us the opportunity to design the work shop in a way that customers could see the jewellery being made from the retail area.
- 2012
Official opening of the relocated shop on Main St, Clifden
- 2014
It was a great honour for our family to meet Bill & Kathy Magee, the founders of our chosen charity Operation Smile. Jonathan designed a gold smile necklace for the charity auction at the anniversary ball.
- 2016
Jimmy came on board and started learning the trade.
- 2017
Launched our stunning gold Claddagh ring collection set with Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies & Sapphires. Read More…

Dave Grohl spotted wearing our jewellery. A Dragon Head Cross from our Viking collection.
- 2019
Transformed our Cliffs of Moher shop with a refit. Jonathan put his heart and soul into planning every inch of this small shop and worked with a local carpenter to make the custom cases. We look forward to you hopefully getting to see it one day.
